I've heard that anyone who is a previous member of the CIA (america's version og mi5) will not ever be allowed a passport to travel abroad. Is this true? I ask because a friend has met the love of her life via the internet...i believe he is leading her on and deceiving her...amongst the stories this "apparent " ex cia member has spun is that he cannot travel to uk...as ex cia members can "Never" leave USA...even for a holiday???????!!!!!!

Sounds like a fantasy story to me.Maybe the person she has met online is in prison and that is why they can't travel to the UK.
He's not wanting to come here for some other reason and this is part of the lie. He's either 12 years old or 45 stone in weight or won't be allowed back into the US once he leaves or something ridiculous.
total rubbish.

Well the friend has been THERE to visit him....but he won't travel to visit her. SAys he can't leave the country. EVER.

So as she's visited him he does exist, he isn't in prison, but i do wonder about this "CIA" thing and the travel...if indeed he was even in the CIA!

All a wee bit odd methinks!
There are an enormous number of ex-CIA living in SE Asia

So the general consensus is that CIA (ex ) can move, travel etc. Same as I htought.

he also says that he originally divorced his wife due to her desertion (she disappeared for a few years) the divorce went through ok...

but now he says she has "reversed / recinded / re-opened" the divorce (says you can do that in american law)and she is now suing HIM for desertion...so she can get the house etc...
one of the reasons why it's not good forher to go over and pay him another visit at this time...

Any of you know anything about american divorce law? Coudl hte above be true....

I'd appraeciate your views...I wont be able to reply till sunday evening now...cos am going away for a few days...leaving in an hours time.

Perhaps he is scared of flying.
Sounds like he's married/still married/pathological liar/insane or doesn't hold a passport ha ha
