as you all know and love my tv programme, and aware that i'm getting on in age,i have a worry.
with all my medical problems lately i'm so worried about my poor poor richard having to look after me,on top of all the essential housework (poor dear)may proove to be too much of a strain
so my saving grace, is that i be put down (humanely)when i become too much of a burden
so how many of you jolly old folk agree with my idea?

Well, it would have to be done with the greatest taste. Certainly you wouldnt do anything as common as simply offing yourself! For heavens sake!

Now, lets think of style: How about an acrobatic and stunning swan dive off the bow of the Queen Mary? The passengers, especially those in the Trafalgar and Britannia suites, could regale their friends with a riveting tale of your glorious departure! We would certainly need to schedule the QM2s orchestra to do a rousing version of Land of Hope and Glory as you make your farewell performance.

Attire: what DOES one wear to such an auspicious occasion? I know! Dress up as Lady Liberty. Taffeta pastel taffeta is di rigueur under such a formal occasion.

And just as the QM2 silently passes beneath the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, heading up the Hudson and past the Statue of Liberty, you can impress your audience as you perform the capriole, courbette, the mezair, the croupade, and levade, finally gracefully arching your back, spreading your wings and soaring into the stratosphere, pausing, tastefully, but briefly, as the gravitational science corrects your angle and brings you plummeting towards the azure waters of the Hudson River!

Part 2

Oh my, you would exceed anything Leona Helmsley ever could have thought up for Harry! You would make all the prominent papers. And who knows, because of your stature in society, perhaps even a helicopter or two would circle in tandem, like love birds awaiting the moment when your lips kiss the flowing waters.

The hoi polloi would, as expected, be kept at a respectable distance. But bless them, certainly they should be entitled to witness such gracefulness and beauty so that some day, they can aspire to such heights themselves. But for now, they will have to remain on the Staten Island ferry as it slides past the statue, slightly listing due to all the sightseers witnessing your performance.

Oh, the excitement of it all. The majesty, the style! Even Mohammed Al Fayed couldnt think up something as grand as this! (And wont that be a powerful message to Her Majesty!)
