The strike was arranged for that date before France even lost the match, so lay of the sour grapes and surrendering accusations.
Do you have any idea what it was like in France in WW11 ? The French and other countries suffered far more than England (who were never invaded). Yes you came over here to fight, but you werent the only ones! LAY OFF THE FRENCH!
Soyez calme Mati! Il est un idiot !

Mon Dieu!
iusual disruptive strike to affect the rugby final?

I do not follow Rugby so a couple of questions:

Have the French disrupted a Rugby final before?
Is the final alway in France then?
Do England always get to the final?
Is your persecution complex a recent affliction?
Disruptive!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like OUR disruptive striking postmen?

hit a couple of francophile nerves there then

mata, do you not think the suffering would ultimately have been less if a bit of a fight had been made of it?

did you notice the subject matter was rugby and striking?

gromit, dont recall mentioning england!

i dont know if france has disrupted a final before, but theyve never been in one

luckily the final is not always in france

england dont always get to the final, just the last two

i dont think anyone could feel persecuted by the french,

of so little consequence are the custodians of the corridor between england and eastern europe

Triggerhappy, don't swear! you dont like the French - not a lot of people like hippies either!

HMT, yes I did notice the subject matter rugby and striking - so why did you mention "surrendering" ?? whats that got to do with it.

"mata, do you not think the suffering would ultimately have been less if a bit of a fight had been made of it?"

How dare you insult anyone who was affected by the war. There were plenty of people who waged their own war against the occupation. What did you do?

mata

i am guessing that you did a lot

difficult to see the evidence though

i did nothing but my father risked his neck frequently in a lancaster squadron flying over enemy french territory on the way to lob some bombs at germany

I'll have nothing bad said against our French friends, having just come back from there where I met some wonderful people, very kind and thoughtfull, more so than some Brits I can tell you. As for striking well, were nothing special are we?

"England was never Invaded". Ermmmmmm interesting. Maybe not by foot soldiers but Jersey bloody well was!!! And The Krauts sure as hell dropped enough bombs on England to feel like it was invaded!!!

Don't get me wrong, I have a small house in France. I love the way of life, the French girls are very attractive and they are fantastic cooks. But they were capitualting cowards in the face of an rather understrenght Germany.

Also, the bloody French seem to send us all the filthy immigrants by directing then to the Channel Tunnel. How would they like it if we rounded up all the illegals and gave them a one way ticket on the train???

I am sorry but the French are a funny old bunch. And all the time I have living grandparents who lost friends and family due to France's uselessness in WW2, I shall bear a grudge.

And also I have sickenning images of them burning sheep alive in an industrial dispute about 15 years ago. They general attitude to animals is very cruel.
General attitude towards animals is cruel? Did they burn them alive then????
Do you think France didn't get bombed, the people starved, shot in the streets and hearded into churches and burned alive? 'disappeared' to prisoner of war camps like many other countries! Britains finest victory was the battle of Brittain, but do you really think the government would not have done the same had your country been invaded??
You have a small house in France -
'Ooh the girls are pretty and ooh they are fantastic cooks' ' and I love the way of life' How sycophantic is that!
and yet you rubbish them in the next breath. Dont blame the French, they didnt start the war!
Sycophantic?? Errrr no not really. I brown nose nobody.

The trouble with France, as someone famously said is "It is so bloody full of French".

I hold no ill will, but the French are a funny old bunch, simple as that. They have been proved beyond all reasonable doubt that they are a nation of cowards. Even in UN and NATO led attacks, the French are always the last in and first out.

I embrace my Eupoean cousins, I really do, but a nation of horse eaters have no place in a civilised society.

And this is not a personal attack on you because like your forebearers, it is not really your fault, is it?

But please, as a nation, get a bloody backbone!!!
Didnt the British clear off just when the Germans were about to invade Jersey?

And a nation off cowards - dont make me laugh!! and in any case we are debating over something that happened a whole generation ago.
I would rather live here than in a country full of street fighting drunks, drugged up yobs , gun gangs etc etc.
I only find one thing funny here and that is it's rapidly filling up with British people who are trying to escape. And contrary to popular belief - the country does not live on horse meat!!
If you feel so badly, I cant understand why you chose to have a house here!
We must agree to differ here HMT -
on onother tack entirely- I expect it will be a rough old game between England and SA, what do you think?

and - VILLAGE VICAR and EYESHADE -Thanks for your support!!
-- answer removed --
triggerhappy, go and wash your dreadlocks !

and why trigger - do you have a gun?
-- answer removed --
I thought hippies were against violence, what does the song mean?
Ok, I appreciate it is not just horsemeat, but the thought of eating snails and frogs legs is just too horrible to comprehend.

And of course France is a peaceful place. The recent Parisian riots and the rise of the extreme right wing must be mere figments of my imagination.

As I said I love the French way of life, I really no so there is no need to be so negative or argumentative.

And unfortunately the WW2 may have been a generation ago, but I still have 4 living grandparents who may argue a different point.

I am afraid the French have always been cowards in recent history. It is a spineless nation which is reflected on its populas.

That does NOT make them bad people. It is not a negative attribute, it is just a fact.

I am not after an argument and accept that national pride is the same throughout the entire world. It is just blatently obvious that England is the better nation.

Bless the French.

(even if they don't wash that often, apparently)
BLAH BLAH BLAH and YAWN!!

The riots in Paris were a very rare accurance, as apposed to that sort of thing in the Uk on a weekly basis. and what about the Bradford riots and the Birmingham riots - only the same thing - usually rival factions of immigrants, the same as here!
I suggest you take a long hard look at Britain and realise what it is becoming.
Don't bother to answer - as I say we must agree to differ!
and I am going to my warm safe French bed
