Scrapheap Challenge

My boyfriend had been watching the most recent series of Scrapheap Challenge on Channel 4 and all of a sudden it disappeared mid-series. Anyone know why this is and when/if it's likely to be back? They are showing repeats on More4 but not carrying on where they left off on Channel 4.

Really irritating to finish mid-way - can't see the point. However, checked it out on one of other of the websites and it's apparently going to come back with the second half of the series in the autumn, but no explanation why!
