i think its a new vaccine (PVC), offered to young children and those in an at risk group, which i should think is why you have been offered it.

My 20 month old son had it yesterday. With all his other vaccinations hes had a couple of days being a little under the weather but hes been fine since this one, it didnt even hurt him to have it.

This vaccination is offered wisely to those in the at-risk groups who would become seriously or fataly ill contracting pneumonia. It is simply given like the flu vaccination but is only needed to be given once.I am a severe asthmatic and was given it some years back.
