If the allegations about Galloway's Iraqi payments are true, what is likely to be done?

[As Shatnerfan has done, please note when answering that these are allegations which have been strongly denied by George Galloway. Any answer should refer to 'treachery' in general rather than this case in particular - AB Editor]

As I understand it the Death Penalty can still be used in the following circumstance, Treason and setting fire in her majesty's ship yards. So I guess he could be hung for treason if the allegations were true. however I dont think that would happen.
'Fraid not gilf. The death sentence for treason etc was removed about 4 years ago. As to what will happen; lots of lawyers will make lots of money at the libel hearing!!
So far as I can see, Mr Galloway has not been accused of any crime. and certainly not of treason. Clearly, however, any MP accepting remuneration from any source without declaring it in the required manner might be in serious trouble with Parliament and his/her Party.
Why not put the question to your own MP. You can fax your MP via http://www.faxyourmp.com/ It would be interesting to see if they reply.
I stand corrected, I always remeber that as there was some poster at school saying you could still get hung. Maybe he will get a slapped wrist
