The Conservatives' unwillingness to declare the names behind large donations is hard to justify Of course, trades unions give money to the Labour party. We must nail the lie that this is remotely equivalent. Money is given openly and declared in our accounts. "

 Tony Blair, October 1994

It just defeats me - I get a feeling of hopelessness. Our country is run by liars, hypocrites, thieves, fools, perverts and degenerates, but there is no alternative. I know that it has been like this for centuries, but does anyone else feel that the current system must change? Soon the very notion we live in a civilised democracy will become genuinely farcical. What can we do?

Vote for Bernados party. OMRLP.
I'm with you - there should be a "none of the above" box at election time. If enough people checked it, our would-be/"leaders" would realise that we want people we can trust running the country, and not have to pick the least useless of the available useless choices.
The bullet is mightier then the ballot.

There's nothing great and righteous about 'Democracy' per se, other than that, in Western Nations, it tends to 'work'.

By giving the proletariat five seconds' worth of action every 1800-or-so days, you give them the impression that they somehow have a say in the running of the country.

Meanwhile, as the Western ' Coalition' attempt to force democracy on a Middle Easten nation -because it's the "right thing to do" - you may start to realise that there is no "one size fits all" system of government.

And judging by the opinions expressed in "letters" pages in newspapers, half the voters have a pretty poor understanding of how 'the system' works, blaming Blair (substitute Thatcher / Major / or the Next Incumbent) for anything from the weather to the way the Civil Service works.

we`ll do what we usually do, moan about it, then fail to turn out at the polling stations and then moan about it for another couple of years.

The policies of the country is dictated by these Donors.NHS is going to be a private American enterprise,,as with all of Tony's laws they are introduced through the back door..

Please Follow the money trail ,,behind every new policy there is some one (Donor) rewarded.
