It was terrible the way recent drug trials have put lives at risk,I feel for the people involved and there families,in future do you think we should gather together all the Rapists, child molesters, drug dealers and corrupt politicians and try new drugs on them first,or should they just be given a lethal dose anyway?

no.
That's what Hitler did - so I guess if you want to belike Herr Fuhrer, then no poblem.

What do we do with all the molesters etc then ? let them out like we do now so that they can re-offend ?
What do we do about the ones who will NOT reoffend? Treat them the same? Or is it a case of once a criminal, always a criminal?

To answer your last question, the prison system does need reforming, to educate and offer councilling to inmates. Unfortunately though, psychology is an inexact science and so it would be a case of let them out and hope for the best.

If someone does reoffend, there is certainly a case of either life imprisonment or the death sentance - however torture and 'testing' as you describe should NEVER be an option.

How then would students pay their way through university? There's something seriously wrong with all this isn't there.

don't start me on students,a lot of the students I know need to get off of there arses and do some work! and i am NOT advocating trials on them, just asking what you people think.!!
Yawn, yawn yawn yawn. This is so boring. The arguments are rehearsed on this site on a regular basis and never get anywhere.

like the house of commons then isn't it!!

tell me how it is rehearsed when we don't know what anybody is going to write ?

Well ray - you did start on students. My son is now in his final year at HW and he has worked his butt off.He has had no social life has taken on other jobs to sudsidise his student loan and often - particularly now in his honours year-does not go to bed until 4 in the morning. He is about to start his dissertation and I although my ex - his dad- and myself have done as much as possible to support him it has been a struggle for us all.The only time he gets off his ar$e is to feed himself.

Dont believe everything you read and you have touched a raw nerve with me.

And Ray back to your original Q - I suspect it was posted for a reaction because no right thinking person would condone what you suggested.

Sorry for going off on a tangent about students but you have to realise the blood sweat and tears that do go into furthering your education nowadays:)

you know me Dris, only winding people up, no offence meant to anyone (honest) and as I said I am not advocating trials on these people just asking what other people think, if we were purely talking about child molesters I think they should all be hanged.

Thought that ray and boy you made a good job of it with me.Once the red mist had settled I realised you were being provocative (ie showing of the top of your Calvin Klein boxers:) Anyway dont believe in capital punishment for any crime - just my opinion.I could rant for Britain but I'll save you all !!!

No - because the people who do such trials for new drugs have to do so on the basis of full informed consent, and the y ahve to be fit and healthy. Many of the people in prison would have their systems contaminated with drugs and would not be eligible.
Serves em right for being greedy - they were happy to take the money.

Drugs trials are voluntary and you sign that bit of paper to say that this drug hasnt been fully tested and things can go wrong, I dont know the ins and the outs of the what actually went on. But I do think its terrible and they should have staggered the dose and the patients - seems like a terrible blunder.

No one should have to endure what those poor people are right now, voluntary or not including convicts. (As much as some of them may deserve it)
