Shame on the French for trying to spirit the Clemenceau aircraft carrier down to the Gujurat in India for breaking, knowing full well that the workers there would have next to no protection from the Asbestos on the vessel, as if life is not miserable enough for those poor souls.

Well it would be the French wouldn't it, their contribution to the world being the eating of small green amphibian's legs, a huge mechano tower, women with unshaved armpits and Sasha Distel. Then we have Edith Piaff, continental breakfasts, open sewers, and of course their charming leader who said that the we had crap food when we won the Olympics. Not to mention the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior.

I am so glad that the Indians stood their ground on this and told the French where to shove it.It was a disgusting thing to try to do.

Noxlumos, you have the wrong country for unshaved armpits, try Germany!! The green amphibians legs taste like chicken and there are quite big. I would rather look at the Eiffel Tower than that pathetic millenium creation "THE DOME", and look at your little Blackpool Tower. Edith Piaff is dead. Open sewers is an outright lie. But you are right, our leaders ARE charming, but they don't smarm around Bush bending to his every will either! and standard English food is mostly fried or boiled out of existance, thats why you are all turning to "foriegn food" i.e Chinese, Indian, Italian etc. Your other ponts, well I defer. But don't be so hard on France, we aren't all bad ! Really!
This is an interesting question really - If you sell a car to somebody do you worry about what they will do with after it is their property?? NO - then why should it be any different with an aircraft carrier, surely if the sale was put to tender or whatever and purchased it is up to the purchaser to decide what to do with it isn't it?
Sorry MataHari, no offence intended, that was mainly tongue in cheek as I hope you know :)

Visit the Louvre, go up the Eiffel Tower, see the beautiful architecture, shop in the street markets, and just soak up the atmosphere.but be warned, its nearly cheaper to have a meal and a "carafe d'eau" in a restaurant than to buy a cup of coffee!! Have a wonderful weekend !
