Agreed, they should not let them put to sea in totally unsuitable craft. But whether they do or not is their business.
Our business is to prevent them traversing UK waters and landing. And the only way to stop that is to physically turn them about when they reach mid-point.
We were foolish to ever become involved with the French in this issue, let along pay them vast sums of money. They have no interest in preventing the crossings - quite the contrary, they are glad to see the back of them and they are never going to try too hard however much they are paid.

Of course they do. Because the BBC deems it perfecly acceptable for UK axpayers' money to be used o provide free board and lodging, healthcare and pocket money for people with no right to be here. They think i is quite justified to use ever-increasing sums of taxpayers's money to do this, even when many of the people who pay those taxes struggle to pay for accommodation of their own.
We elect governments to deal with this issue, not the BBC, and successive governments have failed spectacularly to deal with it because they will not do the only thing that will stop it.

Just sitting with a cup of Green China tea reading my newly arrived hard-copy of the near week old Spectator. I notice that Emmanuel Macron & Brigitte are coming to London later this month for a UK-French summit, & the cynic in me wonders if this Flic beach caper hasn't come about from orders high-up to show how they are working on our behalf & of course 'please keep sending us those millions of pounds '.
Just sayin'. 🙂
