Is it ; "The most devious and dishonest in Britain’s history ? "

Camilla Tominey writing in the Telegraph this morning thinks so, she continues;

'Starmer was elected on a platform of personal rectitude, but his only firm policy is selling Britain out

I thought this Government of Gaslighters had reached its apogee of untruth with Darren Jones’s suggestion that most of the illegal migrants crossing the Channel were “women, children and babies”.

When it was pointed out to the Chief Secretary to the Treasury that the Home Office’s own figures showed the crossings since January 2025 comprised 81 per cent adult men, he later conceded he “could have been clearer”. '

There's much more about rape gang cover ups, abortion, broken manifesto promises not to further tax 'working people'

No space for it all here, but are they so? - I've certainly never witnessed anything like them.

It is a lost argument when the only argument is to harp on about the last Tory Govt. It speaks volumes to me that rather then lauding Labour's 'achievements', they hark back to the Tories. The Tories towards the end were dreadful, so it was time for a change (ALL Govts have a shelf life), and unfortunately the only option was Labour. For the first time in a GE I...

it's not exactly a surprise that a telegraph columnist hates labour is it?

I don't know about all of 'history' - but this government is certainly the most devious and dishonest I've ever known.   I've never actually been physically and genuinely afraid of what any government might do but I am now.  I fear for this country, I really do.

It is nicknamed "Torygraph" but still, he has a point.

If there is anyway to kick this phoney gang of crooked incompetent liars out, lets do it.

You wouldn't expect the truth about this government from a Labour paper, would you Dave?

what are you afraid of naomi?

How many times do I have to tell you, he's a Tory Dirty Tricks plant, with the intention to destroy from within.

As for selling Britain out, remember Truss ????

Does anyone think they are doing a good job? If so, how and why?

The usual loony left response; shoot the messenger.

from a personal point of view, they are the most devious and cynical government I've known. At a labour conference in 2019, they pledged that when they returned to power they would give compensation to every service personnel who had been exposed to nuclear radiation. On their return I wrote to Starmer reminding him of their pledge. After a three month wait a reply was received, not from him or any parliamentarian but from the MOD. There was the usual "thank you for your service, much appreciated" etc but no mention of compensation. They know that by delaying any payment those that are eligible will be dead and the problem solved.

they do not strike me as being substantially different to the tories if i am quite honest. they are promising more public service cuts while hosing money at pensioners in the (mistaken) belief that the latter will vote for them, they attempt to pander to anti-migration people by talking tough and doing very little, they are completely unwilling to withdraw our support from Israel or to stop behaving like america's lapdog. they make the same noises and roughly the same policies on climate change. those are the things which are important to me and i notice very little meaningful difference.

indeed vulcan starmer has reversed just about every policy commitment he made in order to become LOTO. he promised a leftwing leadership and once he was in, trashed it. he's a tory in a red tie.

Michael Gove, who has lately had some criticism for 'moving The Spectator a bit leftwards' since he took over editorship, recently spoke of ;

'... the tragically limited, anaemically timid, intellectually impoverished, morally pusillanimous  pre-emptively cringing nature of Labour's position.'

😄

Oh come on! Most of what you speak of is Tory coverups and what is the abortion cover up?

Your wonderful Tories were horrendous during the last sitting, how many Tory PMs were sacked?

^That's as may be but on a raft of lies the public voted for something they thought would be better - and got something they really hadn't bargained for - the unimaginable.

Tory isn't the only alternative...

We don't have an alternative at the moment Dave.  Four years to go.
