Until the next time, dave. Until the next generation of ideologically constipated youngsters comes along. Until whoever takes over in 2029 ballses it all up and the electorate cries out for change. Add to those, the Islington elite and its like and the showbiz luvvies to whom government really make no difference but who like to demonstrate their virtue by voting for a government which will spend shedloads of other people’s money, and it will happen again.
What never ceases to amaze me (and I really am old enough to be no longer amazed by very much) is the way that Labour administrations always seem to think that pension pots are there for the taking. After all, who would you sooner trust with your pension – an experienced fund manager who gets paid by results or a “here today, gone tomorrow” politician, promoted way, way beyond her competence and capabilities, who cannot even remember what jobs she has held?
