Probably not - but once the pain of the next 4 years is over the electorate will never trust Labour again.😀

I honestly belive that Keir Starmer made Rachel Reeves Chancellor, not because she is fit for the job - she clearly isn't  - but so he could claim the historic 'first' of promoting a female Chancellor, and use it to burnish his 'right-on' credentials at memoirs time.

The same was said after Blair, davebro, and look where we are now

“…but once the pain of the next 4 years is over the electorate will never trust Labour again.”

Until the next time, dave. Until the next generation of ideologically constipated youngsters comes along. Until whoever takes over in 2029 ballses it all up and the electorate cries out for change. Add to those, the Islington elite and its like and  the showbiz luvvies to whom government really make no difference but who like to demonstrate their virtue by voting for a government which will spend shedloads of other people’s money, and it will happen again.

What never ceases to amaze me (and I really am old enough to be no longer amazed by very much) is the way that Labour administrations always seem to think that pension pots are there for the taking. After all, who would you sooner trust with your pension – an experienced fund manager who gets paid by results or a “here today, gone tomorrow” politician, promoted way, way beyond her competence and capabilities, who cannot even remember what jobs she has held?

Yes in 2029 if the tories get in, they will need to drastically cut spending to balance the books then the usual suspects will be crying out about wicked Tory cuts and the cycle will start again.

Twas ever thus

"voting for a government which will spend shedloads of other people’s money"

Isn't it all 'other people's money' though? Regardless of what colour rosette any given donkey is wearing.

Yes duggie. But some of the donkeys seem o have larger sheds than others.

I thought there was no such thing as penury in the UK. (I read that on AB)

I dont know who told you that Atheist, but even up here in oil rich(formerly)Aberdeen we have a multitude of beggars in our streets.

He is being hhis usual ass self.

I bet many that had their money purchase pension investments tanked by Liz Truss, have forgotten how badly they did under the Tories.
