Were The Remainers Conned?
Clearly they were convinced by the pro EUSSR that they'd win easily so instead of concentrating on telling us why we should stay in the EUSSR they embarked on project fear. Oh dear, clearly not learning from history that aggression just makes the British dig in.

None of them wanted it to work and they did their level best to sabotage anything and everything. Then they can say "told you so" and betray the electorate to get back into their beloved EUSSR. That's what happened. Brexit was never enthusiastically pursued. With hindsight I think I'd have preferred it if they just ignored the referendum. All they have done is trash the place for 10 years whilst claiming they have implemented Brexit to shut the electorate up. Now they can quietly emerge us in their beloved EUSSR bosom once more. The UK people have been thoroughly shat upon by the politicians of all hues starting with the treacherous Cameron who bolted out the door as soon as he didn’t get his own way.
yes the remain campaign was in hindsight very poorly judged. yet another terrible mistake by david cameron, may he never get a moment's peace.
brexiters often forget just how close the vote was though. it could very easily have gone the other way. brexiters who are prone to bloviating about how the uk's departure was written in the stars would do well to remember that.
i do now think it is quite likely that the UK will attempt to rejoin in the medium term. i also believe this will be yet another colossal waste of time and resources sunk into this stupid issue and will be of questionable benefit now that we are out. it isn't the path i wanted and i consider it to have been very ill judged but now that we're on it i consider it more practical by far to stick with it.
If the vote had gone the other way where would we be now?
Would the Leave campaign simply have packed up their tents and gone home? I don't think so.
Whatever advantages there were to being in the EU were not easily demonstrable while we were still in it. It was inevitable that we would leave eventually whatever the consequences might be.
"yes the remain campaign was in hindsight very poorly judged. yet another terrible mistake by david cameron, may he never get a moment's peace. " - numerically yes, but given that no government has ever been elected with over 50% of the vote it is at 52% the only true win in history. I think the remoaners took it for granjted they'd win, let's face it I did, so they didn't really try. I really wish they'd have given us something positive about the EUSSR instead of trying to scare us with project fear and Illiteracy. I may even have been convinced but all they did to the majority was turn us away.
i didn't wish him pain. i wished that he would be denied peace. i am sick to my back teeth of politicians turning up and screwing over the country only to ride off into the sunset for a cushy consulting job and touring the after-dinner circuit.
why is tony blair comfortable showing his face in public? he facilitated the iraq war and killed huge numbers of people. perhaps if he had been afraid of getting hounded at until the end of his days he would have thought twice before doing something so horrible.
it's the same with cameron. he's completely insulated and protected from all the people he harmed while in office. i don't think he's deserving of a peaceful retirememt.
