Dunkir Flotilla Diverted
The Flotilla of small boats crossing the English Channel to commemorate the saving of thousands of allied troops at Dunkirk, was diverted at the request of the French, to allow a boat of illegal immigrants to crosss the channel. The French demanded, and were granted, a 1 mile exclusion zone to allow these illegals a safe passage.
I despair at what this country is fast becoming, and despair at a British Governement that would concede to this request.

Bad luck.
That's what happens when you put to sea in a dangerously overcrowded unsuitable craft.
The inflatable, which was suitable for 20 passengers at most, had over 80 people on board. After the dead had been recovered and the injured had been rescued, the remaining 70 or so occupants were allowed to continue their journey to Kent.
This illustrates the irresponsibility exercised by the French authorities. With two dead and ten injured the (still dangerously overloaded) boat should have been secured and returned to France.
