"....I'm going to report you and go to social media" - ooo I'm terrified! How does social media do anything? PMSL!

Question Author

//In the first note, signed by 'Sarah, Wayne and kids', the group said: "Hello neighbour, could you please shut your side window when cooking please. My family are vegan (we eat only plant-based foods) and the smell of the meat you cook makes us feel sick and upset. We would appreciate your understanding."// - I bet their kids loved the smell of meat and were desparate to get some.

They'd be shamed in the court of public opinion.  Is it such a problem to close the windows when cooking bacon, for example?

Very tempting, the aroma of bacon.

Question Author

Vegan types are like nazis they want everyone to believe the same as them.

Am I reading this correctly? Carnivores are in their property and cooking and minding their own business but the vegans can't go into their home to get away from the smell of cooking?

How do the vegans cope walking past KFC and other eateries?

Question Author

Humans are omnivores even these idiots that think they are not. All they have to do is look in their north and south.

to play devil's advocate, vegans do have the moral high ground - us nasty carnivores are contributing to global warming by insisting on beef farming based on bovines that fart methane like absolute pillocks....

Question Author

how do they have the "moral high ground"? They just defy their own biology.

"Why Do Vegans Think They Can Dictate To Their Neighbours?"

They do not.

Just like...not all people like to extrapolate.

These vegans, not all.

Supposedly happened in Australia a couple of years ago. I'm not convinced

"My family are vegan (we eat only plant-based foods) and the smell of the meat you cook makes us feel sick and upset. We would appreciate your understanding."

Dear Sarah, Wayne & Kids,

Thank you for your note.

Perhaps you could get your head out if your backside and appreciate that the world does not revolve around you, your family and your dietary foibles.

My family are omnivores, which is normal for the vast majority of humans. We eat a variety of food, much of it is meat. We like to cook in our house, but in the summer we enjoy cooking alfresco.

We enjoy the smell of meat cooking – it is one of the great pleasures in life and sharpens our appetites in anticipation of the forthcoming repast.

I can only suggest that if the smell of our meat cooking upsets you so much that you remain indoors until we have finished. If the smell permeates your house the only remedy I can recommend is that you attached large bulldog clips to your noses.

We would similarly appreciate your understanding but if you cannot accept that the problem you have is yours to solve and not ours, you can go and do one.

Kindest regards,

New Judge, Mrs New Judge (who both love meat) and Felix the cat (who cannot live without it).

Question Author

yep bang on judge. Perhaps they have a house with windows that don't close.

I think it never happened. Some nonsense taken off Twitter, Instagram or FB

In the same way neighbours complain about the smell of curry or dried fish

Can't see the article due to demands about ads, but can get the gist. Seems as if we have another example of folk thinking they are over-important.  There are plenty about.

My vegan daughter set up a cook station at the bottom of the garden after her neighbour complained about the smell of her cooking offal to feed her dogs. It does smell really bad

OG, use the Brave browser. No ads

Thanks for the advice Barry.  I have that browser but I have a number of browsers. I have tabs open from AB and BBC on Adblock which I've used as primary for a long while, but it opens clicked links in itself. Ideally there needs to be a setting defaulting opening clicked links on the browser of choice.

(I used to have half my browsers refuse javascript to get past this sort of nonsense but have relented on most of them very recently since it also stopped other activity.)

this is not real.

from reddit lol.

i feel sorry for the express's "senior reporter" that they have to 'report' on this nonsense. and quite frankly, tell us nothing except What was in the letter which anyone could Read themselves.
