No need to feign interest or support any longer as the rainbow flag hangs limp in Auld Reekie.

Now don't be coming round begging for funding for your hobbyhorse.

"But parties will not be allowed to register for a space or host a stall at the city's annual LGBTQ+ march on 21 June, and politicians will be banned from making speeches."

I can imagine they are all absolutely bereft.

I am at a loss to understand why the LGBT community need to have a parade to let others know of their sexual orientation.  There is no law against homosexuals or lesbians as there was many decades ago, so what are they demonstrating against. The law on Trans people has been made clear by the Supreme Court, and that is not going to change.

Please let me make it clear that I am not against those of a different orientation, and I have worked and enjoyed the company of both homosexuals and lesbians, and there is no longer any stigma attached to them, although I do admit I have not met a Trans person. I firmly believe that everybody has the right to the life they choose, or that nature chooses for them.

I still don't why they need march through the streets of cities throughout the country waving their flags.  What do they hope to achieve?

I agree with gramps, why is it so important to these people to make us aware of their sexual preferences?

The placard in the photo in the linked article "Trans Rights Now" made me laugh.

Trans have the exact same rights as I do, as you do, and as everybody has. Are they saying they want additional rights to everybody else?

That is exactly what such noisy pressure groups demand, while, of course, framing it to imply it's a case of being denied rights instead.

As for yelling about their particular quirk as if it was a thing to be proud of, well that never has had any justification. It's simply broadcasting how important one believes one's self and one's wishes are compared to the rest of society. I'm sure there must be a name for that personality type.
