Concern Lesson Plans Encouraged Strangulation During Sex
https:/
Why does whoever plans these lessons think that children need to be taught about perversion? I'm convinced that when brains were being handed out they were the last in line.

The big problem is Social Media and some parts of the Internet. This is leading young people, both girls and boys, to learn about it. As it is a dangerous practice maybe(?) its best to give them all the information?
I wouldnt be surprised if this practice is more wide ranging than people think. I met two girls who requested it and that was before the uinternet. I have to say its something I didnt like.
naomi's link isn't working so i looked for it

"A council has been criticised for creating a PowerPoint presentation that appeared to endorse strangulation during sex that was intended to be used in schools.
The slides included the sentence: "It is never OK to start choking someone without asking them first."
so it's one perfectly reasonable sentence in a powerpoint presentation. i don't think there's any reason to be "concerned" about this.
It has been in the news this week that school children are asking about this. I would support any teaching that encourages seeking consent and safe practices.

it doesn't matter if you think it is perversion naomi or even if you think it is sick. the point is that teenagers have sex and they don't always have the kind of sex that others approve of. the purpose of an educator is to teach them how to do that safely and consensually in order to equip them for adult life of which sex is part. parents aren't going to do it and if schools don't then the likes of andrew tate will.
It is naive to think 14 year olds wouldn't be aware of strangulation and other sexual activities. Sadly children are watching hard core porn earlier.
Parents can put every lock block and monitor on their kids devices but they will be seeing in their friends'.
I had some daft ideas about sex which could have got me in to a lot of trouble, so did my children at that age.
I don't want 14 year olds to know about strangulation and all the non-bioligical facts of sexual acts but the probability is they do.
They need to be taught that porn is not real life, that good relationships and good sex is not like porn and consent is vital.
The internet opened Pandora's box and we have to deal with it
You make it sound like a teacher just decided it would be a good subject, and are encouraging children to do it, which is ridiculous.
They are being educated about a subject they are already talking about if not already practising.
Any teacher addressing actual issues that young people are dealing with today is doing good work imo.
Another of those rare occasions (although they seem to becoming ore regular!) that I agree entirely with Untitled.
One persons perversion is another persons norm. As I said above I have personally encoutered it twice both times with the women asking specifically for it. And this was before the Internet.
With the advent of the Internet kids are being driven to find out more about things, perhaps earlier. Tate matbe the provider but he did not start it nor is he the only one by far. Although I knew about it at school and that was prior to 1976 so the Internet is not entirely to blame.
//has the potential to cause physical injury and at the worst to end lives.//
As for injury, many sexual acts have the potentil for that. Swing from the Chandaliers? How many other acts do you want to hide like the Victorians did?
As for the death part, yes this is true and hence why its best to educate the kids before it happens. Cant turn the clock back once someones dead and if it saves just one person then it will be worth it.
