It's a case of needing resources that aren't being replaced fast enough, until we reach the point of developing a source of renewable power that is reliable, sufficient and financially viable; those resources are a necessity. While there needs to be an urgency in developing the alternative, it is also true that we need to continually improve the treatment of any present day waste products to prevent the global situation getting worse.
Unfortunately the ball for that is really in the court of those nations claiming to be doing their bit but who, in reality, are expanding their polluting activities way beyond any showboating renewable energy investment they boast of.

Except that isnt what is being said. It is the pace of change that is the problem.
As I have said for many years on here we need a plan for the future but that plan must be gradual, affordable and not chuck the poorest on the energy poverty pile. We must bring all along for the ride.
Cal, gas and oil have more than enough for 50-100 years so there is not a rush. Reset, plan and get it right with all being able to take part.
But I suppose you as a champaign socilaist think the poor should just be dumped as you are fine in your Islington home.
