Peace talks between Russia and the USA are apparently going well.

At some point perhaps Ukraine will be involved. What do we think?

It seems to me that, whatever deal is made, Ukraine will come off the worst. Putin and Trump are focusing on what they each can get out of a peace deal, and Ukraine will be largely ignored.

Give everything Putin wants, total capitulation for Ukraine, no reparations, and call it a deal rather than it really is - a forced surrender.

I think Trump & Putin are discussing a carve up. And neither care about anything other than what they and their nation may gain in the short term.

I think bookbinder sums it up.

Trump is an idiot, and utterly unfit for office.

He sees everything in terms of a 'deal- with no grasp of politics,  diplomacy or consequences. 

He will side with Putin if it suits him, and he's far too chippy and thin-skinned to negotiate properly. 

If Ukraine comes out at all well, it will be nothing to do with Trump.
