In the provided context, it seems to be used alongside "handwringers" as a derogatory term, likely a misspelling or nonce word (invented for rhetorical effect). The intended meaning might relate to "appeasers" or "collaborators," but no authoritative definition exists for this term.
I think there will be a strange uptick in the number of former-advocates of Trans-rights who suddenly realise that they actually knew exactly what a woman was all along.....they were simply misunderstood and, of course, they have always believed that society works better when the lines of sexual demarcation are obvious and adhered to.
I am sure that will be better phrased by someone in HR with a vested interest in hanging onto their job....
Will the NHS stop trying to educate these women?

“Will the NHS stop trying to educate these women?”
I hadn’t read about this until now. This stands out:
“The NHS trust’s HR department dismissed the nurses concerns, stating they should 'broaden their mindset' and 'be educated'.”
I have never heard such an arrogant, dismissive response from (what should be) a responsible organisation to a legitimate and jusified grievance from a number of their staff. The mind boggles.
It demonstrates that the HR people have no grasp of the law they are attempting to work with. Even before yesterday’s ruling it was clear that employers have an obligation to provide safe and suitable facilities for their staff. Those which didn't only got away with it because they are usually large organisations with bottomless pits of (usually other people's) money to fight grievances like this one, through the courts.
“A hearing on the case is expected on 16th June 2025.”
Hopefully yesterday’s judgement will now make that unnecessary and the trust can instead crack on with providing suitable changing facilities as they are (and always have been) required by law to do.
If "Rose" is uncomfortable using the men's changing facilities, perhaps he can use use either the Ward Manager’s office or a patient discharge room. This was suggested for the women who were uncomforable changing in he presence of a man, so there should be plenty of room.
The NHS, above all other organisations, has embraced the transgender nonsense with a vengeance and the Durham & Darlingon case illustrates that perfectly. They have a lot of work to do.
"Why cant they just employ normal people who have previously worked in the real world?"
Because most people who have worked in the real world wouldn't touch such jobs with a barge pole.
It takes a special kind of person to work in places like the NHS HR departments. Anyone who reacts with a response in the way the mob in Durham & Darlington did, has to be somewhat special.
