Last week, al-Sharaa’s supporters unleashed a killing spree on a minority Alawite community This appalling atrocity is not the only cause for concern in Syria with the renewed persecution of Syrian Christians. It is happening all across the Middle East that Islamist extremism is a concern – it is spreading at an alarming rate across sub-Saharan Africa with the recent beheading of 70 Christians in the Congo an atrocity which barely caused a ripple in the media.

Once Assad fell, (his) Allawites were doomed. Now it's a matter of seeing off everyone else who isn't Sunni.
Regarding his avowed aims at amelioration and Islam, vis a vis lying;

I think that is a get-out clause for saying and doing just about anything 😄
