I'm in the 42%

Debatably he ought not have been offered it, but seems no point in mimicking his attempts to screw up national relationships. We are in interesting times and could do with economic breaks at present. If it keeps him from hitting out it's a small enough cost.

Once the invitation is issued how can it be retracted?

We're stuck with it I'm afraid.

I'd sooner have Trump than the waste of space Starmer.

Why is this is news?

I see some more anti-semitic aerosols have vandalised one of Trumps golf courses up here in Scotland. What the heck this is supposed to achieve is any-ones guess.

I'm rather hoping that if he does come, there will be protests galore...including from North Americans.

42% of what voters? Where? Who?  Pathetic.

Wee Dave speaks for MAGA, meanwhile a substantial number of UK voters speak for the man in the street.

Let Troompaloompa come and take what he gets.

He should be allowed to visit.

We can then totally ignore him and encourage the media to do the same.

Charles is the king of Canada. Trump has done nothing but insult, threaten, and be hostile to Canada lately.

I don't think he should be welcomed here by Charles but I understand how he could be for purely political reasons.

Yes let him come and bring that cretin vance as well. Seeing as eggs are very expensive in their country we could supply them with many thousands as they travel around.

The invitation has been issued -- prematurely as it has turned out.  I can even understand that, because Trump (in his 1st term was nothing like as horrendous as Trump at the beginning of his 2nd term).  So it can't be withdrawn, much as I and many others wish it could be.

Trump is at war with the rest of the world, unless it agrees with him:  since we were premature - we may as well grit our collective teeth and accept any benefit which may accrue.

Bonne chance mes amis!

73% Of British public do not trust Donald Trump with anything he says. So why should they pay for him to make a state visit to the UK.   Just Dump Trump...over the edge of a cliff ..if possible.

42% say....

OK that's the minority .

So 58 % don't think he shouldn't come?

So overall we think he should he come?

As the King is more interested in Islam than Christianity, perhaps he should invite Ali Khamenei of Iran instead.

What a misleading title.

I don't want it to go ahead. He's obnoxious and arrogant. He's not a polician or a diplomat. I know people on here have already said that.

But the visit will go ahead. The King will not back-flip with the invitation. He has to remain outside of the politics. So, all you folks that live in or near London are going to have your lives disrupted for the visit of this odious man.
