Maydup makes a good point regarding US bases in the UK.  These provide a lot of their information... we live not very far from one.

It should give us some leverage with the USA - wecould expel the occupants and take-over the bases if push came to shove.

A scentist friend of mine pooh-poohed atomic bombs - more worried about a Cobalt bomb. Not sure if we have one.

Yeah, but when Russia tries to show off with a test firing it tends to be an embarrassment for them.

What I find comical with Russia is that when we see the annual parade in Red Square they always show the newest tanks and equipment yet still they use 60 plus year old tanks and equipment in the special operation in ukraine and have lost thousands of them in battle.

As pointed out before the number is largly irrelevant, the West has enouigh to ake the important parts of Russia glass and they know it. MAD is what the game is.

In case you cant work it out tests are done to find failures, those failures can then be fixed.  Its when you dont find failures the problems start as nothing is perfect.
