they have taken a hostile stance to their historic allies and a friendly stance toward russia

looking at it more cynically the USA might have concluded that its biggest threat is China. seeing as NATO as an organisation was set up to contain russia, you might see why feel they no longer need it.

Yes they are. They're abandoning NATO and siding with Russia. That puts all of Europe in danger from the expansionist dictator Putin.

In addition they're threatening to invade Canada and Greenland. Two countries that are supposed to be their allies.

They also want to take control of the Panama canal. Whatever that means it can't be good, given the first two items above.

They're also starting a trade war that threatens to put the world into recession, and will do nothing to benefit the American people.

These are all things that will destroy the existing world order.
