Celebrating the 80th anniversary of VE Day is important—we honour the sacrifices made for our freedom. But let’s not ignore the invasions since then. Not by armies in uniform, but by waves of illegal migrants crossing our borders unchecked. What was fought for in 1945 is being surrendered today, not least by this and successive governments.

My mudda ( Mile end hospital ) was outside Buckingham Palace shouting - "where is our King?" - not one flower in the bed was squeeshed. Everything looked so worn out and drab
