Dunno about that - the incomers are mostly young males. 7 or 8 sharers working at a car wash could easily stump up the rent.

And are their efforts going to greatly improve the country's GDP, especially its GDP per capita? And when hey all begin o father children, will their car washing enterprises earn them enough to support their offspring?
We need to look at the long game here. There are only so many car washing and pizza delivery jobs to go round and I would suggest that anybody engaging in them is unlikely to improve the UK's overall standard of living too greatly.
Put a stop to the need for more housing. If the population is stable the only new housing you should need is to replace housing no longer viable and being demolished. We already have too many folk here. Creating more housing is pushing the real problem into the future with greater numbers and less undeveloped land.
