He didn't look any older at 92 than he did in Robin's Nest.

He's still on our TV a lot. Still makes us laugh

That's sad news.  RIP Brian.

Loved George & Mildred.

He looked well for 92! Seemed a nice man, too. RIP Brian.

I remembering watching his 'This is your life' tribute.

That's where I learned that in addition to having 2 sons, he and his first wife had also fostered 6 children.

The general consensus then, as now, was that he was a very nice man and a thoroughly decent human being.

RIP Brian.

I guess we all have to go at some point and he did have a fair innings.

For what its worth I liked him, RIP Brian.

Last of the Summer Wine was struggling to find its feet after the death of Bill Owen until Roy Clarke introduced the character of Alvin (who, just like Compo before him, could 'bounce off' Nora Batty and add some amiable eccentricity to the show).  Nobody else could have filled the role as well as Brian Murphy did.

he was great in MATH and G&M, fun fact he was also in "The Devils" 70s horror with Ollie Reed. Banned for a long time. Famous for the "sex crazed nuns" scene! RIP.

I mean the film was famous for the SCN scene, not Brian! 😁

He was great in 'The Booze Cruise' trilogy.
