Getting really desperate now. <#:○)

Question Author

who is? Labour over taken by reform this very day and once pound shop barbie has hiked everyones council tax by 4 times inflation how popular do you think they'll be?

Get your head out of your April NB.

This dalliance with The Express seems to have got TTT all of a lather, gushing at both ends.

🙄

I've been ready for them since the last general election

It won't come as a surprise here. The council tax hasn't risen for 3 years, so it was bound to happen before long.

4.99% has been suggested here - if they stick to that...

Some councils are angling for 15%+.

I don't understand why the lowest council tax is in some of the wealthiest areas - Westminster, Windsor.

I know they get a lot of revenue from business rates.

Who bears the cost of reduced council tax due to benefits and other reductions and discounts? The councils, DWP, central government?

Get ready, how? A money tree? Our council tax goes EVERY YEAR. Rob dogs. A huge chunk goes to pension fund. Abolish councils, central funding would save more maybe?

Better managed.

Looks like NB is the desperate one.  Daily more bad news from labour.

The working class are being truly punished, it will push them to Reform.

06:03 where do you live 10cs? Mine goes up every year without fail, a small amount percentage wise but a rise. Now PSB has given the green light to hike it up to 4 times inflation.

david small "Get ready, how? " - I mean decide what you are going to cut back on.

Mine was £2164.76 from 2009 thru 2015.

Now we have spendthrift liberals in it has steadily risen to 3105.58 last year and apparenty 4.99% this year.

Money could and should be saved but they wont, "woke" vanity projects take precidence.

Needs Musks dynamis youngsters to hack their way through where the money goes.

3T. I will be less generous to charities. Breathing.

DS, I have already started that.

If the Government thinks it can do better with my money then it can go ahead.

I doubt very much it will though, just directly to doners pockets.

Given that domestic rates (or whatever the latest rebrand calls it now) doesn't relate to ability to pay then it should be scrapped, not increased. The scum at the council steal enough from me already. (Hopefully they'll be explaining to some deity at some point why they were part of what they did, or what they imposed.)

Is it not time to crack down on the Council Tax non-payers,even up here in Aberdeenshire we have lords of the manor not paying it and council house wasters not paying it.A crack down on these chancers is long overdue.
