Elon Musks Salute
What do you think of it?
I know my thoughts and would be interested to hear others opinions.

I wonder if any of these idiots banding the word "nazi" around have any idea how offensive this actually is to the thousands of us who are children and grandchildren of the Holocaust? By calling people you dislike "nazis" you are minimising the actual evil committed by the Hitler regime. Shame on you.
Quite so hazi.
The Liberals are the new nazis the neo fascists that demand we All have the "correct" opinion on any given subject lest we are sumarility punished. Ok they are not marching us to gas chambers (yet!) but the same intolerance of different views is evident.
They bandy about the word "nazi" without a thought for those that suffered in the 40s under the previous incarnation of nazis thus showing their own nazi credentials.
The salute was the fist to the chest and arm out, nothing like the nazi salute. Look in any film with romans.
"They bandy about the word "nazi" without a thought for those that suffered in the 40s under the previous incarnation of nazis"
Completely agree, TTT. Free speech is free speech but people do need to think very carefully before using the word "nazi" in any modern context. (In my opinion), which I why I can't agree with your next statement.
"thus showing their own nazi credentials." No. They aren't nazis either. They may be liberal, thoughtless, full of hate, deluded, stupid, bitter, prejudiced, intolerant etc, but there are VERY few people walking the face of the earth today who could really be called "nazis". I may be a little sensitive as to this, but think I am entitled to be when my ancestors were murdered by the ACTUAL nazis. Yes, everyone is entitled to an opinion and be free to express it, but please, everyone, be thoughtful before you use the word "nazi".
09:42 ok fair enough I understand, I used the N word to try and indicate their extreme liberal tendencies are N...esque. Apologies no offence intended. I just feel that we are sleep walking into a neo fascism and yet people like untitled continue to use the N word for those that don't go along with their prescribed "correct" opinons. I just see it as huge irony that this seems invisible to them.
I'm not jewish, so have a different perspective. I personally don't find anything whatsoever offensive about any salute, and take Musk at face value. He's in a free country, and should be free to make any salute he wants. He has made it clear what his intentions are, and yes, people are going to twist it to suit their own narrative, as we've seen on here.
" I just feel that we are sleep walking into a neo fascism and yet people like untitled continue to use the N word for those that don't go along with their prescribed "correct" opinons."
you just did exactly the same thing 🙄
"The salute was the fist to the chest and arm out, nothing like the nazi salute. Look in any film with romans."
the nazi salute is the roman salute.
Well said Hazi;
There’s a pungent whiff of desperation to the branding of Musk as a Hitler lover. It seems some on the left have yet to outgrow their Rick-from-The-Young-Ones habit of bellowing ‘Nazi’ at everyone they dislike. They don’t care if it’s inaccurate. They don’t even care that it’s a species of historical relativism that risks diminishing the crimes of the Nazi era by comparing the pretty normal political stuff of the 2020s with the unique barbarism of the 1930s.
No, all that matters is that it makes them feel good. Barking ‘Nazi!’ at right-wingers allows sun-starved online leftists to fleetingly feel like warriors against fascism. They get to cosplay as modern-day International Brigadiers without having to leave their bedrooms. It’s not Musk who’s the saddo – it’s this army of idle insulters.
Yes of course people are entitled to their opinions, but sometimes opinions are wrong. Untitled's opinion that anybody saying Musk's action was not a Nazi salute are themselves Nazis is patently wrong. I don't think it was a Nazi salute and yet I can assure untitled I am not a Nazi.
I think we can all agree that if somebody had the opinion that it is OK to call a black man a n****r that that person's opinion would be wrong. I see little difference.
The Nazi salute is not the same as the Roman salute. In the former the arm goes straight up either from the side or the opposite shoulder with hand open. It finishes at an angle of 45 degreed. The Roman salute starts as a fist firmly touching the heart then quick going out flat hand arm only stightly off parallel to the ground.
Fun Fact Hitler rarely did a nazi salute. He had his own bent arm sort of hellow milkman type salute.
'As debate swirled online as to the meaning of Musk’s gesture on Monday, Rolling Stone reported that some on the far right had drawn their own conclusions and were celebrating the moment on social media.
The leader of the neo-Nazi Blood Tribe, Christopher Pohlhauswrote: “I don’t care if this was a mistake. I’m going to enjoy the tears over it.” The founder of the far-right social media platform Gab, Andrew Torba, echoed his sentiment. “Incredible things are happening already,” he wrote.
On the neo-Nazi forum Stormfront, a user posted an image of Musk striking the pose under the words: “Heil Hitler.”
The Australia-based neo-Nazi Thomas Sewell also shared the video of Musk, describing it as a “Donald Trump White Power moment”. '

o gawd, it ("nazi") is in the taboo box - will they bloop it out of Chirchills' speeches - or in true AB manner say that Churchill said "Narzi" so it isnt Nazi- it is something else
and just say the nuh-word? Like Digger in Damn Busters
Jesus on a bicycle
Seinfeld - is that a middle eastern (levantine) name had a Soup Nazi - oh no no ! bloop it out - delete, exterminate. That was intended to be a ioke/amusing
Oh, I see, it is OK when X uses it on AB but unacceptable for Y - normal wednesday then
people often assume that modern nazism must be a carbon copy of the movement as it was in the 1940s. it isn't. like communism and every other political ideology nazism has evolved.
it used to be brownshirts, now it is business-casual
it used to be that jews were their ultimate enemy, now it's muslims.
it used to be the hurst wessel song, now it's the fourteen words (if you don't know what this is then you are not qualified to have an opinion on modern nazism).
the fundamentals are the same. their goal is to purge society of elements they consider to be threats to the purity of white civilization as they understand it.
musk believes in the "great replacement" conspiracy theory which is fundamental to modern nazism and white supremacy. so if i am not mistaken does khandro, whose sympathies also lie in that direction. for everyone seizing on the paper thin disguise, neonazis understood full well what musk was doing and received the message:
we all know what he was doing. some of you are just lying about it.
