Lorry drivers are in charge of significantly more dangerous vehicles so perhaps they should retire at 60.

Do younger lorry drivers not make similar mistakes?

It’s certainly true that if the lorry driver had been prevented from driving because of his age, the deaths might not have occurred. However, there are lots of other “ifs”. For example:
- If the original collision had not occurred (wonder what the age of the drivers involved was).
- If neither of the victims had gone out last night.
You are making the assumption that the accident happened due to the lorry driver’s age. And you just don’t know that.
