From Sky News.

The appointment of a man as
Scotland's first "period dignity
officer" has provoked
widespread criticism.
Critics say the job should have
gone to a woman and former
tennis star Martina Navratilova
has labelled the appointment of
Jason Grant "f****** ridiculous".
I have to agree with Martina.
why should martina navaratilova have an opinion on this - and why should anyone care what she thinks. How does this relate to tennis?

I guess all female athletes should rightly have input?

I guess similar problems abound at Wimbledon?

what's a "period dignity officer" anyway? Some sort of Historical equaliser?
TBF though it's great that all the problems of Scotland are solved that they can now mop this up, well done wee jimmy!

I really don't understand why a period dignity officer is needed.

i get really fed up with modern news whereby people who dont have any more of a valid opinion than me get quoted. I didnt read the whole article, but did they also quote twitter (another recent thing in news reporting i hate).
It's like bono pontificating on climate change
"I guess all female athletes should rightly have input?"

Well as already mentioned ruined there’s the link to the footballers and as I alluded to I’d have thought it gets difficult for the ladies in Wimbledon fortnight, given that all players follow the tradition of wearing all white.
In case you didn’t know, Navratilova is a world-famous tennis player of some renown.
I don't live in Scotland either but I have an opinion, so I don't see why Martina shouldn't have. (Just as I have no objection to British ABers denouncing American gun laws.) Unlike me she comments under her own name, and since her name is well known, news media may decide to highlight her response.

You might think the media have better things to do with their time but I don't see any reason why she should be expected to shut up.
He was able to demonstrate his suitability for the post having just had his entire house redecorated and knew what it was like to have the painters in.

Maybe his job is to run around ladies loos (if there are any) just to make sure they are fully stocked. Alternatively, Tayside just feel a need to be loved.
