Never heard of him.

He is a Corbynite, trade unionist and momentum supporter, so probably doesn’t give a stuff to what Starmer thinks or says.

// Tarry subsequently worked as the national political officer for the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association Trade Union. //

A transport trade unionists joins a rail picket line - shock horror!!

Scraping the barrel today Tora.
Yeah, because nobody else is caving in to strike action or the threat of it, are they?

Starmer was a Corbynite - until it didn't suit his plan any more.
Naomi

// Starmer was a Corbynite //

Starmer supported Andy Burnham.

Gromit: "He is a Corbynite, trade unionist and momentum supporter, so probably doesn’t give a stuff to what Starmer thinks or says. " - indeed and he's not the only one. This illustrates very well why Labour is unelectable. If Sir Beer wants to get through the door of no 10 this is where he should be targetting his efforts.
Gromit, Andy Burnham has been Mayor of Manchester since 2017.
He was paid by TAAS, and he supports their cause.

A bit of a none story. Not even as though anyone has ever heard of him.
Naomi,
I know, I voted for him.
Question Author
hang on Gromit you are always claiming not to be a Labour man!
Well then, gromit, you also know that Burnham wasn't a rival to Corbyn's leadership at the last election - and that Starmer, as a member of the Shadow Cabinet, supported Corbyn.
// as a member of the Shadow Cabinet, supported Corbyn. //

Ah, that is the bit that you are not understanding. Accepting a post does not mean you are a supporter. How many with jobs in the Government voted ro oust Johnson.

TTT, I have had a vote for 40 years, and have voted Labour twice. Once as a protest vote when Thatcher was PM, and once for Andy Burnham as my Mayor. My vote for Burnham in 2017 was no secret, I said so on AB.
Naomi,

In the Labour leadership election, Starmer was one of Andy Burnham’s nominees, and campaigned against Corbyn.
Starmer voted Remain and accepted the Shadow Brexit post when it was offered yo him. At heart is is a Blairite and on the right of the party, not the left.
Question Author
No ned to explain gromit, your choice, I just find it a little at odds with your regular protestations that you are not a Labour supporter when clearly you are at least sometimes.
yes yes
how true how true
unlike the Tories, who when Boris has lied so much his tongue came out of his ..... - all supported Boris and voted him back into office as one !

hmm sort of
// that you are not a Labour supporter when clearly you are at least sometimes.//

we are all socialists now - Edward VII 1902
Tora,
Naomi voted Labour in 97 (you may have done). I didn’t. I have not voted Labour in a general or local election since 1983. So I am not a Labour supporter or voter.
My vote for Burnham was because he was easily the best candidate.
If Burnham had become leader in 2015, then things could have been much different.
Question Author
Gromit: "Naomi voted Labour in 97 (you may have done)."
You mean Tory lite? I voted proper Tory I always have in every election.
"...I didn’t. I have not voted Labour in a general or local election since 1983. So I am not a Labour supporter or voter. " - Except for the cases you outline above at 10:22.
Gromit, //Naomi voted Labour in 97//

Needless to say I didn't do it again.
My vote in 1983 was an anti Thatcher vote, not a pro Kinnock vote.
Anyhow, back to the OP, not sure why you think a lifelong trade unionist joining a picket line is proof Labour can’t be trusted. I am fine with it.
