A prime minister who was unequal to the crises he faced... a man who was never suitable for leadership elevated and rewarded eagerly by opportunistic short-sighted tories... he has seriously damaged this country and so have all his supporters.

Stableford 9.22 you are not the only one.

I hope and pray Gove doesn't take over.
staying until the autumn, you lucky voters ! - who elected him.....

even the beeb are saying that he was elected by the voters of Uxbridge elected him and he is PM as a creature of the majority in the House of COmmons

what do the usual suspects say
Far too early: he was elected by the people of England and should stay as President for ever: he can do no wrong !
or something crazier ?

stay until autumn - does he unfire or unresign all the toadies who have gone
or does he appoint new ?
AND
he had all the right education - school, uni, rich father
how did we come to this?
I’m glad actually he’s staying until autumn.
The cabinet and ministerial appointments until then might be interesting!
The Borstriches are vocal today.
Where were they yesterday? Deep in the bowels of Downing St with their hero? Lol.

There will now be a fight to get him out now and not let him hang on until the autumn.
I find it very worrying that Boris has said he's going to resign today; after all, you all (well, most of you) know what a liar he is.
I have my doubts about him "staying on until autumn" bhg... he'll just use it to try and cling on...
No because by then the tories will have a new leader.
I suspect people will rally round now.
But who knows
Well I know it’s not a popular opinion but I’ll be sorry to see him go. It’s a thankless job where whoever is PM can’t win whatever they do. I dread to think who will replace him!
I think they’ll try to get a new leader asap and then he’ll go
I guess he's fad upwith the stress. IMO probably an error. He needed a decent successor and I see none that are both in a position to throw their hat into the ring and are prepared to. He should have held on until one appeared.

The irony of the typo is that I would imagine it’s where Carrie will now be going for her wallpaper! Lol

TTT// Johnson “best prime minister this century”.

Not much competition. I assume Gordon Brown, being Labour, doesn’t figure at all. That just leaves May and Cameron. Hmmm, who’s the best of those three?
//Yes, best PM this century...//

Unfortunately, Tora, that does not mean much:

Blair
Brown
Cameron
May

I recall a few weeks ago that there was a thread which explored how, having won a vote of No Confidence, Mr Johnson would be removed from office. I seem to remember saying "ways and means, ways and means". There was no way Mr Johnson's tenure would have lasted beyond the summer. There were simply too many things going on for his authority to be sustained. I'm glad he was elected Prime Minister and got the country out of the awful farce that enacting the referendum result had descended into. But I'm equally glad he's going and particularly glad that his ghastly wife will no longer have any influence on Conservative and government policy. I'm not sure there's anybody waiting in the wings who will restore my confidence in the party I have voted for all my life (apart from Lord Frost) but we need someone who will make the most of the advantages that Brexit offers the country, put a stop to some of the ridiculous "woke" nonsense that is tying everybody up in knots, and to urgently fix the country's broken energy supply system. The rest can wait, but those things are urgent.

Dream on. I have a strange notion that those things will not be paramount to whoever succeeds Boris.

Do people read what they write and check for stupidity?
