good move for the provision of "safe" spaces for women? or a retrograde step in the general move toward inclusivity?

I like the toilets that are single cubicles with sinks that open directly on to the main thoroughfare. These toilets can be used by anyone and are safe. Of course there has to be no risk of the door opening accidentally.
To be frank, though, men who are hell bent on attacking women in public toilets are not going to be put off by a 'women only' sign.

We're getting gender-neutral toilets in our new building and so many women complained about it when we had a Teams overview of it. It was explained that each toilet would be completely private with floor to ceiling doors, a wash basin, sanitary disposal bins etc. I didn't have a problem with it but those that did said they would take it to the PCS. The thing is that PCS would already have been consulted and had it signed off at planning stage.

Single sex toilets make it very difficult for people who are out and about with a child of the opposite sex, say a 6 year old.

PP, it can be tricky when I am in sole charge of my grand-daughters, just as it was all those years ago when I took my daughters swimming when they were little.

I agree, Barry. My son is 12 and absolutely hates going into men's public loos so we always end up using the disabled ones. He's too old now for me to take him into the ladies.

The answer is quite simple. Ladies (no bits) Gents & mixed. That way not only are the non standard gender people catered for but also those with their kids/grandkids.

I don't think I have even seen a "same sex" toilet with urinals, but maybe I have led a sheltered life.
