Ellipsis. //The treatment came before the resignation.//

Perhaps it's that Pincher is deemed more valuable and his departure will be a greater loss. It happens. I've done it myself.

Fatticusinch, I read it.
Sunday papers now saying 6 incidents are subject of complaints against Pincher. And a lot of criticism of Johnson for not suspending him instantly.
Johnson will do it wrong ... however he does it.

Therese Coffey is the latest cabinet minister to sell her soul in the media whilst defending the indefensible.

Amazed at how many contrasting accounts there are for Johnson’s actions. Another week of fire-fighting ahead for the cabinet instead of getting on with their jobs.
// The Mail on Sunday alleged he threatened to report a parliamentary researcher to her boss after she tried to stop his “lecherous” advances to a young man at a Tory party conference.
The Sunday Times alleged he made unwanted passes at two Conservative MPs in 2017 and 2018, after his first resignation as a whip over claims he made unwanted advances to Olympic rower and Conservative candidate Alex Story. //

Boris appears to be out of touch with his party. Everyone seems to have been aware of Pincher’s proclivities except the Prime Minister. Cummings indicates that Johnson may have had an inkling but choose to ignore it.

……or will it just be another case of ‘nobody told me’?

That one is wearing a bit thin of late.

Someone’s story is already unraveling.

A No 10 source acknowledged that Johnson “probably” knew about general allegations about Pincher and the nickname of “Pincher by name etc” but argued he was unable to look into “unsubstantiated rumour” before appointing him deputy chief whip in February.

Hmmm. ‘Probably’ invariably in Johnson’s case tends to mean ‘definitely’.

hmm more probably

Hmmm. ‘Probably’ in Johnson’s case means he knew about it and the usual lying has started
