Good enough for the Falkland Islands but NOT for Scotland. What a joke.

“The Prime Minister stressed that the Falkland Islanders, like all people, have a right to self-determination.”

We should be careful that a wine-sozzled honey monster doesn't issue orders to sink the Vettriano.

How is it not good enough for Scotland ? Clearly that is not the case, they had a referendum just 8 years ago ! If they wait a couple more decades or so maybe they can have another one.
Re your q1, funding comes from the UK pot, not England, much as you like to believe they're one and the same thing.
No one should be talking about Nazis here.
They should let them have the referendum and put this to bed.
doug: "Re your q1, funding comes from the UK pot, not England, much as you like to believe they're one and the same thing. " - well they are more or less, leaving the semantics out of it, the question remains, when England is no longer stumping up where are you going to get the dosh? Are we ever going to get one of these questions answered?
OG: "Clearly that is not the case, they had a referendum just 8 years ago !" - yes and to have another so soon is a betrayal of the voters of 2014 who thought they were resolving the issue for a generation.
You just gave up any right to criticise rabid nationalists with a sense of entitlement, Tora.

End of.
Didn't put it to bed last time Kard. It won't while there's a political party in Scotland dedicated to achieving that error.
kard: "They should let them have the referendum and put this to bed." - no hope of that me old china! This'll be a neverendum, EUSSR style!
doug: "You just gave up any right to criticise rabid nationalists with a sense of entitlement, Tora." - how by stating the facts? We all know where the money comes from, stop it with the semantics.

Their whole reason d'etre is independence - that's what they stand for and that's what people vote for.
//that's what people vote for. //

I don't think that's right, maggiebee. Some vote SNP because they don't like Labour and they don't like the Conservatives - as will be evidenced when a second referendum goes the way of the first - which I think it will.
"We all know where the money comes from, stop it with the semantics."

By "semantics" you mean "facts".

It ruins a rant when facts get in the road.
'Tugs forelock to Tora then shakes head, walking away knowing that stubborn delusion can't be overcome.'
//Their whole reason d'etre is independence - that's what they stand for and that's what people vote for.//

They vote SNP to get the best deal from Westminster - they vote against independence for the same reason.
