They're burdened with a fanatical government, Taliban.
And now a massive earthquake which is said to have killed more than 1000 people. That seems a first report and the number of casualties wil likely be much higher.

//Nasty. Good luck to them trying to sort the situation out.

We're very lucky we have next to no quakes here in the UK.//

Nasty it is and good luck to them in trying to sort it out.
Apparently there’s already an impending humanitarian crisis there even before the earthquake?
Another one looms in Kenya.

So having been insistent on the West leaving Afghanistan the Taliban now want our help?
In the midst of a global food crisis, whom should we help first?
Maybe nearby, richer Islamic countries will make a concerted effort?
It’d be nice.
1,000 deaths in light of millions on the brink of starvation in a vast country is minuscule in the grand scheme of things. Yes it’s sad, but as ever maybe large families of 5,6,7+ children in such countries needs addressing?
It’s been going on for far too long.

we'll beg to differ on the US /CIA / UK involvement in Afghanistan
its the "leave them to it!" comment i though was obtuse
No problem, I considered your ‘sticks v Kalashnikov s’ post to be crass in contrast.
The Taliban have deliberately killed so many I find it surprising they give a hoot about a few thousand dying in a natural disaster. Leave them to sort it out themselves.

Allah carried them back into power, maybe he’s reminding them who’s boss, or that they’ve displeased him?
One thing is for sure, if I were an aid worker I wouldn’t set foot there. " - wow! I never thought I'd find something we'd agree on!
perhaps they should ask themselves why Allah is punishing them?

Lol! It was always gonna happen at some point.
Davebro, I don’t think they do give a hoot really. They’ve given up the search for survivors already.
