Today, Russia has released its latest list of MPs that will be sanctioned by his regime – all 287 of them. The only problem is, er, many on the list of names aren't actually MPs anymore as the list appears to be at least three years out of date.

Among them include ardent Remainers Dominic Grieve, Justine Greening, Oliver Letwin, Phillip Lee and Sarah Wollaston – all of whom either lost their seats or stepped down at the 2019 general election. The absence of Sir Keir Starmer, a staunch defender of Nato, also points to the Russians using old information. Clearly Moscow's finest need to acquire a new copy of the Times' guide to the House of Commons.

Once being sanctioned was a badge of honour – now it seems it's prizes for all when such giants as Maggie Throup are being banned from entering Russia. Even luminaries like 'Beijing Barry' Gardiner, Diane Abbott and Richard Burgon now face 'personal restrictions' for fuelling 'unwarranted Russophobic hysteria,' according to the country's ministry.

Still, there is one high-profile figure from the recent past who escaped such punishment: step forward Jeremy Corbyn - Strange that, don't you think?

They can sanction me if they like. Ban me from Russia.

I think Jacob Rees-Mogg will be very upset
Chris Bryant surely is the odd omission.

I wouldn’t take any of this too seriously.
Someone’s taken a list and a pin.
All this reminds me a bit of the Dublin publicain who banned the Queen from his grotty suburban pub a few years back
Vile dictator does something stupid. Hardly a shock.

Well, Boris isn't on the list either (unless I missed him), alongside Cameron and May. Perhaps the Russkies decided against party leaders?
Theresa May and Boris Johnson were already “sanctioned”
Ah, thank you Ichy, I'd only seen the current list.
one of those sanctioned was Luke Pollard, MP for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport. He said on Twitter about his sanctioning:-

“I’ve just been sanctioned by President Putin for standing up for Ukraine. It looks like the Kremlin have finally got their hands on the huge stockpile of gay flags, glitter and Eurovision albums I had squirrelled away in Moscow. I stand with Ukraine.”
Best send MI5 round to JRM & COBs gaffs then. Damned subversives.
