deep down do you think he is shook to the core with the amount of sanctions imposed, and more than shocked with the number of major companies pulling out of Russia almost on a daily basis.

this isnt news
He is certainly upset about the sanctions calling them "akin to an act of war"
Quite deep I’d say
I hope it hurts
ich, the problem with sanctions is that Putin will not really be affected but the Russian people will, regardless as to whether the support Putin or not.
Its a discussion about a very relevant news topic. It belongs here, why do you have such a problems with News articles being discussed?

As Danny says, from what he has been saying he is clearly irked if not downright angry.

asking me to read someone's mind is news now?
okeydoke
I think he totally underestimated the resistance from inside Ukraine & the response of the wider world & seriously overestimated the capability of his own forces.

He will do anything to save face which probably means no early peace in Ukraine.

But don't the massive inflation land in Putin's lap danny. The general hardships yes do land on the people of Russia, shortages of all kinds.
It must be hurting. The rouble at an all time low, companies pulling out, shortages beginning to kick in, unemployment rising, all of which equates to growing dissent .... not a happy prospect.
Putin will be affected because his country is heading for economic meltdown
It won’t be quick but it’ll happen.

(How is this ‘not news’?)

With respect, I did ask what people "thought" not if one could read someones mind. Thank you.
i doubt if he's 'shook to the core' because he's clearly insane, which is extremely worrying . . .

Give it a rest bednobs.

If you cant answer the question then just leave the thread to those who can.

You can raise your own threads you know if you dont like the ones raised.
Please, don't let this develop into another slanging match.
No.
Same thing happened in 2015 after he invaded Crimea.
The Russian economy tanked.

// The lack of confidence in the Russian economy stemmed from at least two major sources. The first is the 50% fall in the price of oil in 2014. The second is the result of international economic sanctions imposed on Russia following Russia's annexation of Crimea and the War in Donbas //

You make the mistake in thinking that Putin is at all bothered about ordinary Russians - he isn’t.
Surely the plummeting Rouble will be hurting. OK he's probably got a stash of $ but if abroad they are not usable.

I think its is pride that will be hurt the most.

And I dont think he is insane, just an evil tyrant. Bet he has been planning something like this for years, certainly regaining the old USSR.
12 .44!
ymb //certainly regaining the old USSR.//
I agree that is probably what he is after but ,after the resistance he is getting from the Ukraine, he might decide to abandon that idea.
Glad this is posted under news... Because it is News.
