And Boris didn’t set it

Especially when people are worried over rising until it’s bills and the cost of living right now, I realise it’s been exceptionally hard but they aren’t alone

quite right bobbs, not nearly enough.

The timing isn’t right Tora in my opinion
It's a pay cut in real terms.
Question Author
Mmmm, not sure especially in these economic times but at least Boris can’t get the blame this time
Most jobs are experiencing a real-terms pay cut right now. I don't see why MPs should be the particular exception to that.

I don't have a problem with their pay rising in line with rises for others, though.
Would you turn down a pay rise awarded by an Independent Body?

I wouldn't, if you feel ethically uncomfortable, then give it to a charity.
Question Author
No, I wouldn’t Sqad but timing is bad don’t you think?

Question Author
I suppose not but one wonders if we will get one inline with inflation?
I very much doubt it somehow Sqad
Seems ok to me.

How State Pension has risen in previous years
April 2020 3.9%
April 2021 2.5%

Basic State Pension will have increased by 5.67% whilst the MPs will have gone up by less than half that perecentage in the same period.
