We always used to call them 'Another Storm'!

Sorry, I find that this trend of naming weather events is causing people to be more fearful and small children seem to be in dread of normal winter weather, well the ones I've chatted to. I do wish the names were dropped.

I agree, rowanwitch, however local kids (and their parents) are getting agitated about 'Will it be worse than Eunice?' etc..

the names are so you can remember them. I couldn't evern remember which of last week's storms was which if they didn't have names

Giving names help folk to know which storm is being discussed, especially if there are multiple storms within a short period.
