Just what Boris needs...Argentina is making fresh claims on the Falklands and China is backing them.
But Liz Truss has warned them to keep away . The Falklands are ours says she and we will defend them .
Will this be Boris's saviour....He always wanted to follow Thatcher....

Glorifying any kind of conflict shouldn’t be met with such glee from you Gully
. . . . . and British troops will be needlessly killed. Just like Thatcher, and Blair.
Question Author
20 .54. I will not be gloryfying it with glee Bobbi.
I will leave that to Boris.... and the flag waving to you.
Really? You seemed quite happy that they could be a conflict ?
Question Author
Bobbi ,My headline did not mean ,my prayers are answered .
......I meant Boris's Prayers......get it ???
I just feel how happy you are when you post and this time it’s about conflict , not something. I’d be happy doing or feeling
You do seem gleeful that you have something new to beat Johnson with. You seem to be happy to exchange potential servicemen deaths for a decent gloat.
I'm rather surprised that Gulliver didn't refer to The Falklands as The Malvinas.
I find it quite disturbing that Gulliver sees this to have a pop at Boris , if it did materialise lives would be lost
Question Author
Thatcher Glorified at the news about the Falklands ,
she thought it was her dream coming true,, and it was.
I think they should be returned to Argentina. What use to us are these islands?
She was protecting the rights of the islanders ,why can’t you see that?
Sharon ,everyone there is a British citizen and they don’t want to be under Argentinian rule
Question Author
21.35 Bobbi do you think for one moment, Boris would worry about lives being lost ..... Boris is only concerned about one persons life , and that is his own.
So really this is just another pop at Boris? Not really anything to do with the Falklands is it ?
Question Author
21 47 How do you know that Bobbi ...have you got lots of friends there also ?.
Gulliver , this is called a link

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falkland_Islands
gulliver, if the link supplied by Bobbisox is too hard or too long for you to read, here is another piece of relevant information.

" The Falkland Islanders were asked whether or not they supported the continuation of their status as an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom in view of Argentina's call for negotiations on the islands' sovereignty. On a turnout of 92%, 99.8% voted to remain a British territory, with only three votes against."
//...have you got lots of friends there also ?.//

I've a couple of acquaintances there with whom I 've kept in touch since I visited Port Stanley in 1971. I can tell you from my experiences then that all the islanders I met were fiercely British and had absolutely no wish to live under Argentinian rule. (WHy on Earth would they?) I doubt that attitude has significantly changed since then and the 2013 poll which Vulcan mentions seems to confirm that.

Best not to dabble in things you seem to know nothing about.
When they invaded in 1982, we had a strong navy and a strong army. We now appear to have neither and it really would be interesting to see just how much strength and firepower we could react with.
