Camilla's popularity with the public is on the up. Should she, when the time comes, become Queen?

Personally, I think she's doing a good job so I would be happy to see her take her place beside Charles as his queen. What say you?

Yes, she has paid her dues, completed the course and passed with flying colours.

Somebody who's waited decades for the right job needs to be cut a bit of slack, the pressures of long-term unemployment are well known.

As the wife she must have suffered along with him and should be allowed to play dress-up when the time comes.

Gawd bless 'em.
SB I’m inclined to agree with you on this , I like Camilla and Charles but he’s in his 70s , if we want to preserve our Royals ( and I do) give way to William & Kate , he’s been groomed to be King and I think they’d be great for our country
TTT, my remark was in answer to Bobbisox's post. Yes, Diana did have other partners but, apparently, only after she realised that Charles was never going to give up his affair with Camilla.
To be totally honest, i couldn't give a rat's aris what title is bestowed on Camilla when our Charlie becomes King. I'm not a Royalist but i'm far from being anti-Royal. I just baulk when some put the Firm on a high pedestal when we all know that many of them are not role models.

Charles shouldn't step aside for William. Charles is the next king - it's his birthright. William will get his turn.
I'd also much prefer Charles to become King as is his right. If only to get one up on TonyAV in the bragging rights about Royal fans. :-)
if his mum & dad are owt to go by Chas could have 20 years as king.
Could do but our present Queen is due to hit 70years and I’d like to see longevity in our Royal family’s reign Dave
Nobody questioned the Prince Consort titles so Princess Consort would be a fitting title - or even Queen Consort but I don't think she should be Queen Camilla.

bobbi, the only reason our Queen has been around for so long is because she ascended the throne at an early age - as did Queen Victoria who also reigned for a very long time. William is already quite a lot older than either were when they ascended the throne.
Is not up to us. We don’t get a vote.
Victoria and Elizabeth II consorts became Prince, so shouldn’t she become Princess Camilla ?
OK, a King has a Queen so I would be happy with Princess or Queen.

Gromit, a queen's husband never becomes king.
We never got Queen Wallis so what's so different about Camilla?
because a queen is always subservient to a king and yadyadayada - load of old bull's droppings.

//We never got Queen Wallis so what's so different about Camilla? //

Edward VIII wasn't married to Wallis when he was king.
The wife of a king is crowned and created queen at the king's coronation, Wallis never was.
Question Author
bhg, they weren't married.
neither were they crowned.
Yes I realise that too Naomi but having a Monarch in his early 40s to me would ensure a stable reign with his Dad being 74 another change could take place , mind you it could anyway I suppose ;0(
Pssst, I hope our lovely lady is around For a good while yet, I’ve just bought all the bunting for a massive street party in June :0)
^^ sorry for delay, was on the phone Naomi
It would raise another question if an unmarried king subsequently married - would they crown his new wife and make her a queen?
