that the drinks party was against the rules

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-60039868

This has a breaking news headline banner on the bbc

This is a direct rebuttal to Dominic Cummings claims
2 Downinf Street officials back Cummings saying that he had to Boris as much but Boris waved it aside

Why such a headline from the bbc ? Is the death knell sounding for Boris ?

1. I believe that he was warned.
2. He shouldn't have needed to be warned anyway. He should have known the rules.
3. Even if we assume he wasn't warned, and was too incompetent to know the rules, he should have put a stop to the event when he turned up and saw what was happening.

There really is no excuse.

Shall we just forgive and forget and treat everyone with kindness ?

I think that I am more concerned about the good of the country, not the good of the party.
Mr Johnson will be afforded kindness the very minute the trials of his time machine are successful.
He can then go on to undo some of the more Draconian measures we've had to endure these past two years and give people their families back, especially those on very short time in nursing homes, hospices and hospitals.
I personally hope that Boris hangs on by his fingernails for the next few years and hands Labour Downing Street as a result. It's more than possible that if he goes, he'll be replaced by someone less idiotic, but a bigger Thatcherite.
I am of the opinion that Boris was wrong to go to these parties, particularly after he stood at his little podium and preached to us about what we could and could not do, which was a terrible time for us all and my sympathies lie with anybody who lost loved ones at the time and couldn't visit them, and the elderly suffering alone in care homes.

Now here comes the BUT, but I also agree with naomi at 15:22. He did save us from Corbyn (heaven forbid if he had become PM) and all the other things she says are true also. I personally would rather have him for PM than say Gove, who I find scary and I feel power would go to his head (just my opinion). Dominic Cummings is an out and out creep, didn't Boris support him during that time most of the nation hated him (that doesn't include me by the way, I didn't hate him and thought it was an appalling witch hunt). Now he has turned on Boris spectacularly and seems determined to bring him down.

ALL MP's (and probably PM's) lie. The witch hunt is now directed at Boris and I feel sorry for him. I wish he would just tell the truth and apologise, but it's probably too late now.
Boris only supported Cummings after his lockdown breaches because he knew Cummings had plenty of dirt to dish regarding his own indiscretions.

He's probably got footage of Boris at the head of a conga line which he's keeping in reserve.
I do wonder if the latest Mrs. J. Thought she was attending a party? Or did she agree with her husband he was working. . Why was she there ?
Boris thought he was attending a work event Anne. I always bring my wife and a bottle of gin to work events, so it all makes sense to me.
I read something from his sister, Rachel, today. Never forgetting that she opposed him on Brexit, she said he would have considered the gatherings in the garden to be work - which is what he said. Had I worked in Downing Street so would I - but forget all his hard work - just carry on crucifying him - and then moan about the result. Hey ho.
Is it true Boris can walk on water ? :-)
Rachel is as untrustworthy as Boris is (their brother Jo, though, is an honest man).
Jo Johnson ?
that's him, anne. Among other things, his father-in-law, a Labour supporter, coined the word "Bliar" so beloved of many ABers. And his wife has been named Journalist of the Decade, an honour which somehow eluded Boris

Lol
So because his sibling backed him up that puts him in the clear then ?
May as well get a note from his mum too just to make his excuse watertight !
Thankfully her opinion does not exonerate him and luckily for us you do not work in Downing St

Hard work ? He has been having parties galore in Downing St and swanning off on a painting holiday whilst the public queued for petrol amid an energy crisis and the government were castigated for their handling of the Covid crisis in an official report !
But I forgot he is your hero

Boris was too busy trying to organise a kicking for a journalist who was digging a bit too deep on his mucker Darius Guppy
Just as well we have Cummings.
