ICH he was using the potential loophole that he had immunity as he was sick which is the crux of the matter..why not A: take an antibody test or B : get the jab ...as Nadal has stated if he wants to play it is very easy to comply and do so...
Yes.
But none of that is relevant to the original reason for his exemption which apparently was indeed that he’s tested positive within six months.
The only reason I can see for this to be an issue is that they’ve now said the six months thing is no longer valid.
He "SAID" he had tested ???
anitbody test would support that statement..why not take it ?
As I’ve said before I have no time for the bloke particularly. But he got granted an exemption subsequently independently reviewed by two bodies outside the world of tennis. If they screwed up it isn’t his fault.
agree but if he never had been positive to begin with it rather sheds a different light on the matter
Novak by name No Vac by nature!
Well didn’t he have proof at the time and get asked for it?

If not whose fault, honestly, is that?
Yes you couldn’t make it up :-)
if he plays and the crowd/other players are mean to him, perhaps he could get his mum to have a go at them?
in any case the crwd may give him a bit of hassle in the beginning, but as soon as he starts winning, they'll get behind him (unless he's against an aussie)
As far as i can ascertain, it is merely 'Advantage' Djokovic. The health minister could yet step in, apparently.
Maybe he was lying about having contacted Covid during December but the fact he was out and about days after 'supposedly' testing positive doesn't necessarily prove that. It could be he was flouting the laws of isolation?
I hope he gets to play. I hope he wins the tournament. I hope he becomes the GOAT. Because that will surely stick in the craw of many on AB.
He's lost several days of training now. I wonder how much impact that will have on his game.
A terrible decision and one that will only further alienate him and rile an already frustrated Australian public who have endured the harshest Covid regimes and lockdowns

It will only add fuel to their arguments of one rule for us and one for the rich and famous who have flouted rules there since the pandemic began

If he does manage to play I imagine he will get a hostile reception

More fool him
seems he has been "re-arrested" ?
He is so conceited that I never watch any match he is playing in. Much rather. see players with heart and not with condescending superiority
He wouldn't be world number one without 'heart'!!
His brother claims otherwise, MM. Believe we're better off waiting for an official statement.

agree with ymb, they seem to be rushing all over the court with new goalposts (so to speak). He's claimed all along he's followed the procedures and the judge seems to have agreed.
Would depend on the rules in his own country - did they require isolation after testing positive? Or didn't he test at all and was just claiming to have had it?
