(Or Freezer)
My fridge/freezer is giving up the ghost and Im in 2 minds whether to replace it, with the price of energy about to sky-rocket etc.
Most stuff doesnt actually need refridginating, eggs etc.

thoughts?

How about we all ate fresh (weekly)
Food doesnt go off in a week??
Yes probably .

But I wouldn't want to

Inciddently, anyone know how much it costs to keep a fridge/freezer running 24/7?
What!!! I need my freezer to keep my vodka ice cold!
If I had a cool larder with marble slabs etc like my Gran had that would be fine, but in a hot kitchen then veg and salad stuff and dairy would wilt and waste quickly.

Thanks for the link Mamy...
Appriciated.
I could give it a go as I lived for over 40 years before I acquired a freezer. I'm with you in that most things can be stored and eaten as you go, eggs, vegetables, (home grown) salad stuff and I don't eat meat or fish. Maybe in the summer I'd need a cool box for my milk; either that or I'd have to find an expensive delivery service as I'm 4 miles from the nearest shop.
Just two of us & we have a huge fridge & 2 freezers, years ago when we were a family of five, we ha only a tiny fridge about a two foot cubic capacity, I don't know how we managed, but we did.
Didn't have a fridge until I was a teenager, like most people then, I think.
Who hasn't stolen a pie left on a window ledge to cool. yum, yum.
well it would take a bit of planning but yes I think I could. We never had a fridge when I was a kid.
My Gran had a cold room that never got any sun. She used to have a sort of mesh dome that covered cheese and meat. She didn't have a fridge or freezer
I lived without a fridge for over a decade (although I did have a small 'table top' freezer during much of that time). I only got one because I needed to refrigerate the pre-filled syringes that I had to self-inject with during my chemotherapy. (It's not even a proper fridge though. It's simply a 'counter top cooler', so I can't fit very much into it: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/718eFRKH5FL._AC_SL1500_.jpg )

So I've no doubt that it's possible to live without a fridge. Further, my parents never had a fridge until I was into my teens and they never had a freezer at any time in their lives at all. Fridges (and freezers) are 'handy' but definitely not 'essential'.
It depends how many people there are. I'm not sure how I would have managed without with 7 people living here. Plus, it keeps it out of the way of the dog :-). I think our house is too warm at different times, to keep anything at a constant temperature.
Yes. That was an advantage, our houses were freezing.
