Anybody in hospital with Covid has to be kept away from people who don't have Covid, no matter whether or not it was Covid that put them in hospital. This fact stretches resources. Likewise flu or Ebola, but Covid is a bit more common at present. You can't work in a job that puts you in contact with vulnerable people if you have Covid. Like, cutting injured people...

Has it not been said from the start that even though Omicron is a likely a milder form of Covid generally, it won't stop hospitalisations: furthermore because it spreads so fast those hospitalisations are likely to all come at once, or near enough.
So the fact that it's less severe is not incompatible with what we are seeing.

He's pointing out his own way that the vast majority of severe Covid cases country side are in people not fully vaccinated: that means either not vaccinated at all (most likely) or with only one jab.
It isn't that difficult, even given Peter's unique method of delivery.
Nor is it difficult to find the evidence.

Ah but the 'evidence' only comes from search engines that point to BBC, the Gaurdian and other MSM who all lie or twist things to suit there agenda donchaknow ickeria... the real truth comes from using search engines like duckduckgo and following some unknowns on youtube and twitter
When the three stooges stop backslapping each other they'll realise pp's 'facts' relate to Jul/Aug, so have 0 relevance to today's situation.
Anything you read that claims 90% of Covid patients aren't fully vaccinated means they hadn't yet had their Booster shot. Why do you think it's worded that way?
That was supposed to be a rhetorical question but looking at who I'm talking to, I'd better explain. They're hoping there are people out there so dense they think it means 90% are unvaccinated.
You three, with your own gravitational fields, prove the point.
Not sure who the 3 stooges are here but maybe your jealous 'cause you and royfromaus are a only double act.
Yes I think the term 'not fully vaccinated ' might well mean anything less than the booster stage. If they broke it down to something like 60% no jabs, 20% one jab, 15% 2 jabs would it make much difference.
We allready know the more jabs you have the less chance of needing ICU. Nothing you say can change that
Regards the OP. 80% of new Covid cases are incidental.

Lol
If you want to call into question the facts and figures of a professor of intensive therapy at a major hospital in the uk then you really have lost the plot !
If we are the three stooges you must be Benny Hill
Any link roy or do you still discount them that come from the goverment or NHS spokespeople or MSM as lies or fiction?

Plenty provided over the last week
Why have you chosen to ignore them ?
Furthermore do you actually keep up to date with events on a daily basis ? Can you see what is going on around you ?
You only provide anecdotal evidence of what some bloke reported to another bloke, sticky.
COVID-19: Boris Johnson says 'up to 90%' in intensive care have not had a booster and urges people to get jabbed

Just listen to Boris in this link (posted earlier)

Rofl !
Is that meant to be serious ? !
Yes of course roy
Why on earth would I take the data and experiences of a medical professor working on the front line as gospel ?
Benny Hill has been joined by Charlie Drake ! Lol
roy & Spicerack.... I'm curiuous.

Even if the NHS spokespersons are overegging the pudding abit by cherrypicking figure's to encourage more people to get fully vaccinated as soon as possible.... does it change the fact that we know that the more doses we have the less chance will end up in a ICU Covid bed.
Or are you saying that the vaccine dont help with reducing serious illness (or death!) or we should not warn people of the increase risks of not getting jabbed
//COVID-19: Boris Johnson says 'up to 90%' in intensive care have not had a booster and urges people to get jabbed//
And your point is roy? That quote confirms what I thought that the 90% figure was about not boosted.

Am not sure what 'up to' 90% means... my guess is it means maybe 70% in some hospitals, 80% in others and close or upto 90%.
Omicron is much more contagious. Contagiousness does not equal severity. It's much more mild, something like 50-70% less than Delta. No more than a cold for pretty much anyone who's been vaccinated. The vast majority of people in ICU are unvaccinated.
