She may well be lynched, she must be the most hated person in Scotland at the moment
I think we've a bit more about us than a lynch mob, Barry.

We'll get by somehow, even without the sectarian events and standing at a bar.

Probably for the best
On top of everything else the last thing the paramedics and police would want to deal with is tens of thousands getting pished ! Lol
Power mad numpty !!
Well there are two ways of looking at this: I don’t care particularly for Nicola Sturgeon and I’m not sure if this is a good idea or not but she apparently IS sure of what she is doing and so do the First Ministers of Wales and N Ireland too.
By contrast the First Minister of England seems not to know what to do one way or the other and so England therefore appears to have a weak government just now
Good God, the prospect of sober Scots on Gogmanay is mind-boggling......
I had a post for DT. But no point .

perhaps she's following the science rather than the polls? Not all politicians do this.
Perhaps all the devolved parliaments are taking the the scientific advice. ?
Did I not read that folk get the politicians they deserve ? Probably not strictly true though. Some politicians change their image once in power.
DTCwordfan - may surprise you that many Scots, like myself, are strictly TT. Sad about football matches though - my son and grandson have tickets for Boxing Day in Aberdeen and for the local derby on 2nd January - both scuppered now.
Are these matches to be played behind closed gates, maggie ?
Not much use to your son or grandson if they are.
Just joking Maggie - have enjoyed a few Hogmanies in my time north of the border! I'm sure the celebrations will continue, even if some-what covertly so, allowing for what the Blessed Nicola or Satan Boris have to say between now and the New Year... Shame as it would be great to be up there and enjoying an Islay scotch or three.
Tonyav, believe 500 at each match, names to be drawn out of a hat. My son got a match ticket during last year's restrictions but my grandson didn't so neither went.
Best of luck to both with ( football ) lottery draw then, maggie.
