Who Wants Masks?

Boris announced yesterday that masks are to be made compulsory again in shops. In the summer he said that there would be no going back on the relaxation of measures. Face masks are a complete waste of time given the way that most people wear them so how many will join me in this little bit of civil disobedience and refuse to wear them?

i wear one on public transport. If they are compulsory in shops then so be it.
Germany have a mandatory masks rule and they have had a big spike in cases so the masks don't make a lot of difference but in the UK, 3 jabs later and no closer to freedom, everyone will do as they are told.
though i can't see it happening, they don't have enough staff on to make it compulsory, waitrose my local supermarket has a sign up which many just ignore...about keeping us all safe, ummm
He never said there will be no relacation. There's been talk of plan B since summer. If Chris witty or Valance or Van Tam or your Gp said we should wear rhem would you still say let's have civil disobedience. What your saying really is let's help covid spread and that'll team em that we can't be told what to do. some need to grow up. Even gulliver disagrees with you on facemasks
I wonder,
How many do you think will join in your days of disobedience Diddlydo?
Well saidemmie. The ere was a scientist on the diploma last night who said there a help even if only a small help so he supports it. At the moment in England I seen too many ignore it on public transport unlike Wales because they say if if its voluntary everywhere else it can't be that important so why bother. Hopefully more will mow do it.

Re public transport - it's different if you live in London where mask-wearing on public transport has remained a condition of carriage. However, if you live in the sticks like me it's stupid. Often I'm the only person on the bus to my nearest small town - even on a "busy" day there are never more than four other passengers and we all sit well apart so no need for masks.
Diploma = radio. This predictive text on phone is rubbish
Well said bobbinwales!!

What did your actually say?
Ha diddly. But if they said only wear one if this and if that and if there's less than 4 people within 5 metres or similar you'd be the first complaining it's confusing or picking holes saying ah but what about....

Bobbinwales @7a.m. I would say exactly the same whoever had announced it. In fact Prof Whitty was quoted in yesterday's Times saying he didn't think the public would welcome having their freedoms taken away again (he wasn't talking specifically about masks) and was doubtful if they would comply.
Most places where we live it is about half and half as to who wears them. Even some couples walk around supermarket one wearing a mask and the other not. If making them compulsory then it needs to be well enforced as in some other countries.
Would you prefer simple lockdown if pubs and restraints, not essential travel, reintroduce furlough. Diddlydo. Or would you say do nowt and let covid do as it wants.
tsm, but the shops don't have the staff to enforce it,
No diddlydo your wrong. He didn't say that he asked would there be cooperation and then he said yes he thought there would but he has also said we re not needing lickdown yet
i don't think people will tolerate more restrictions to their daily lives. i am away for the Xmas, and plan to wear my mask only where necessary, which is likely the taxi going there and back...
I can't understand why people pay attention to scientists when Bob and Diddly are here to explain everything to everyone,,
Yes I know that emmie. The other thing is that staff get a lot of abuse when they try to enforce it. If the government do make them compulsory then shops and transport will need help to help them do it.
ho hum 1ozzy...
Ho hum indeed
