Who Wants Masks?

Boris announced yesterday that masks are to be made compulsory again in shops. In the summer he said that there would be no going back on the relaxation of measures. Face masks are a complete waste of time given the way that most people wear them so how many will join me in this little bit of civil disobedience and refuse to wear them?

//Naomi - I thought it was a well known fact that a mask is more to protect other people rather than you? //

Why wouldn't you want to protect other people, diddly?
diddlydo, the Coop do a nice range of coffins...they'll be 'with you every step of the way' - do you want to order one or shall we send you one? They're made in Weegie-land by the way. https://www.coop.co.uk/funeralcare/coffins
I agree that a lot of wearers could do better, but if you're so concerned about the way people are wearing them, why don't you instruct them on the proper way. Good luck with that! I cannot see how encouraging others to not wear them can help in any way. That kind of 'disobedience' is, in my opinion, lacking in common sense, petulant and potentially dangerous.
Whilst you are at it
Carry out more disobedience by not wearing your seatbelt in a vehicle
It will decrease the odds and speed up the natural selection process you seem intent on pursuing
aren't you all getting somewhat carried away, diddly if you don't want to wear one then don't. we will wear them in the hope they give a measure of protection.
It seems a minor inconvenience to wear a mask in any crowded area, as many sensible people still do, so are you happy to go out and potentially spread a potentially lethal disease with family, friends and total strangers.
I would still know what diddly hopes - or expects - her civil disobedience will achieve.
We have to wear masks in all indoor public spaces. Very polite security guards offer you one if you don't have them! Those that cause problems are overseas visitors. From Jan 2 to 10 schools will be closed as will all pubs bars discos etc. Working from home will be reinstated. Self testing is recommended if you are getting together with non everyday contact
not a lot i would have thought Naomi.
well I will declare the elephant in the room.. not wearing a mask to help yourself and /or others avoid a potentially lethal infection IS JUST PLAIN SELFISH !!

If those who, like me, aren't wearing masks since July 19th continue not to wear masks, Boris may get the point that people are more than p****d off with his U-turns and messing with people's lives. I remember months ago on this forum Naomi was complaining about namby-pamby interference with normal life.
and MORE people will be 6 feet under ! streuth !!
i also remember it was you diddly who said what we should all be doing, staying at home and hunkering down, well that's worked well hasn't it.
// I remember months ago on this forum Naomi was complaining about namby-pamby interference with normal life. //

I don't think I've ever said that. I've certainly said that we must get on with life, but 'namby-pamby'? No. I've always said I'll do as I'm asked - and I do.

So what do you hope to achieve, diddly?
bring back complete lockdown for me..it seems the only way ...and enforce it !!

Naomi - in answer to your question "What will I achieve?" I will achieve the opportunity to shop in comfort and be able to breathe.
do it in Scotland if you want Minty, sorry but i couldn't take another 18 months like the last, not seeing family for all that time. I have plans that encompass days out with family, and i for one will do my level best to enjoy it.
I would much rather protect my family and friends by NOT visiting during a spike...
diddly - you might also achieve the opportunity to catch a disease which gives you great discomfort and won;'t have the ability to breathe.
